Site Manager Dave surprises children and staff with his creative festive displays

Killisick Junior School children were delighted to find their Site Manager, Dave Field, had gone above and beyond with this year’s Christmas displays.

With an enormous Christmas tree in the hall, children also discovered a Minion themed wonderland, equipped with a sparkling reindeer and windblown snowdrift!

Head Teacher Lindsay Clark said, “We are very lucky to have a Site Manager like Dave Field; he cares so much about making our school a wonderful place to learn and enjoy. The displays are truly spectacular this year and they are loved by the children and the staff! Mr Field has really made the school feel joyful with his amazing efforts.”

Dave, who is also known for his poppy displays during Remembrance week said, “I enjoy creating displays for the staff, children and visitors to enjoy.  Of course, Christmas is a magical time of year, but not all children get the opportunity to experience the joy, so I like to go the extra mile to give everyone a Christmas to remember.

“I have put on numerous displays over the years as well as creating the Santa’s Grotto for the Christmas Fair.   I have also designed poppy displays outside on the bank at the front of school which were well received by the children and the general public.”

Year 4 pupil Charlotte Makey said, “I love the displays, -Mr Field has really made our school feel like it’s a Christmas wonderland!” Fellow pupil Logan Feeney, Year 4 said, “I think the displays are amazing and I love the Minion display with the snow. Thank you, Mr Field!”

Dave says he is constantly trying to find new and creative ways to go bigger and better with the displays to make the school feel special. When asked how he was going to top this year’s Christmas display he said, “A 100-foot reindeer? Perhaps next year!”
