Children and staff at Mapplewells Primary & Nursery School have collected two trolley loads of goods to donate to the ‘Lets All Eat’ foodbank in Sutton in Ashfield.

The School Council launched the ‘Christmas is about Tins not Tinsel’ campaign and in two weeks managed to fill two trolley loads.

Head Boy, Harry, and Head Girl, Beatrice, presented Simon Martin, the ATTFE Vice Principal, and one of the founding Directors of the foodbank charity, with the goods donated by the school community.

Andrew Whittle is Head Teacher at Mapplewells Primary & Nursery School and said, “Simon was very grateful for all the donations and was overwhelmed by our family’s generosity. Mapplewells is a fantastic school community, and they never fail to help when the call goes out. Once again they have pulled out all the stops to ensure that the local foodbank has supplies to share with those who need it most. Thanks to all of our Mapplewells community for their donations, and to the local Alfreton Road Coop who loaned us the two trollies for the collection!”
