Children of the Pinxton Village Academies raise £396.82 for breast cancer research

Children of 3 Pixton Village Academies have raised £396.82 by wearing pink to support breast cancer research.

All children across Longwood Infant Academy, John King Infant Academy and Kirkstead Junior Academy, joined together to support the Breast Cancer Now charity, and pupil Elle-Sophia age 10 said she hoped it would make a difference. She said, “We are all wearing pink to raise money to help people who have breast cancer. I think it is a good cause and I hope we raise a lot of money. My Nana had breast cancer and so I really want to support the charity.  Everyone in school is joining in, and everyone looks very pink!”

Anne Ingle is Headteacher of the Pinxton Village Academies and said, “We want to say a huge thank you to the Pinxton community for supporting our ‘Wear Pink- Raise Money’ fundraiser for breast cancer research.

“Our school community are amazing when it comes to supporting the school and children in their efforts, and this is such a good cause. Not only have a number of our own staff been affected by this health issue, but many of our children’s families too, and we all wanted to play our part in helping to fund life-changing breast cancer research.”
