At Flying High Teaching School Hub we recognise the positive impact that strong leadership can have on a school community, from improving educational outcomes to fostering a positive learning environment for students. That’s why we’re passionate about supporting leadership development at all levels.
We partner with Teach First to deliver National Professional Qualifications (NPQs) across Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, and Leicestershire.
These national programmes are of the highest standard and are designed to help leaders create a clear vision for their school or area of responsibility, and develop practice with their peers.
Our experienced facilitators guide participants through each NPQ module. At the end of the programme, participants complete a national assessment case study.
The offer
At Flying High Teaching School Hub, we offer the full range of NPQs
Whole School Leadership NPQs –Senior Leadership, Early Years Leadership, SEND and Headship
Specialist NPQs – Leading Teaching, Leading Teacher Development, Leading Behaviour and Culture, Leading Primary Maths and Leading Literacy
This comprehensive suite of NPQ programmes provides the knowledge, skills, and expertise needed by leaders and experienced practitioners at each stage of their careers.

Funding
Funding is targeted at teachers and leaders who work in the most challenging schools or educational settings, serving more disadvantaged communities.
Scholarship funding to cover the full NPQ course cost will be available to teachers and leaders from:
- The 50% of schools with the highest proportion of students who attract pupil premium funding
- 16 to 19 educational settings identified as having high disadvantage
- For the early years leadership NPQ, highly disadvantaged early years settings will also be eligible.
Scholarships will continue to be available to all teachers and leaders from maintained schools for the following NPQs:
- NPQ SENCO (NPQ SENCO)
- NPQ Headship (NPQH)
