Pride as school ranks Top 10 in Nottingham City and top 1000 in national league tables!

Blue Bell Hill Primary School based on Gordon Road in Nottingham is celebrating its performance in the national school league tables. The primary school came in the top 1000 schools based on academic achievement in 2024, placing them in the top 6% nationally. In Nottingham City, the school was in the top 10 schools or top 3% for academic performance in the primary school category.

Headteacher Rebecca Martin said, “As a school we are all so incredibly proud that the children’s academic achievement has seen the school placed in the top 1000 primary schools nationally and the top 10 in Nottingham City.  It’s an amazing achievement and credit goes to our whole school community, and to the staff and children who work so hard day in and day out.”

Rebecca says Blue Bell Hill staff champion children to excel and enjoy their education. “We aim high in everything we do, and this result just goes to show that hard work pays off. Our children and community love our school, and we ensure that when they leave us to go onto the next stage of their educational journey, our children are ready to face anything. We feel they are at an absolute advantage because their roots are in Blue Bell Hill.”

On hearing the news, pupil Renae Woodburn, year 6 said, “I am proud of my school and my teachers are good. I really enjoy our school assemblies, we have singing assemblies, we celebrate peoples’ birthdays, and also, we celebrate our achievements. Everyone tries to do their best and we all help each other. I think our results show we are a good school, and it makes me feel good about our learning and everything else we do at school.”

Year 6 pupil Gerald Osei said, “I think our school is special. We have a have a reward system and you get house points for good behaviour. Being a pupil here is good, and my teacher is really good too! We get to look at lots of subjects like Macbeth by Shakespeare, and I really enjoyed learning about World War II. Now we are on the Tudor topic. I am very proud of my school and the results, -and I think this year we are going to do even better!”
